The Pig..

I have been lucky enough to stay in some amazing hotels around the world but one of my favourite places has to be the Pig hotels. We have stayed at the Pig near Bath and now the Pig at Combe and both are fantastic. There are quite a few other Pig hotels across the country and I would really recommend checking them out for dinner or a stay. The Pig at Combe is set in the middle of the Somerset countryside. I love the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by fields and nature. We stayed in the hayloft which is the the most amazing room, with a beautiful bath and huge monsoon shower.

The Pig hotels are famous for their incredible kitchen gardens where they grow and produce as much as they can. What they don’t grow themselves they source locally from within a and 25 mile radius. The menus are fantastic! The staff are all amazing and really child friendly and helpful.

We love the fact you enter to a blazing fire and the bar is at the heart of the house, smaller drawing rooms offset from the main bar mean you can have a drink in a quiet and comfy lounge with a fire and table service if you don’t fancy the buzz of the main bar. This was perfect for us  with Blythe as we had a room to ourselves which meant we could enjoy a few drinks while Blythe enjoyed some colouring in.

The potting shed set out in the garden is the most amazing place to go for a treatment, I had the most relaxing massage soon after we arrived which left me so relaxed for the whole stay. If you are looking for a country retreat, with fabulous food I would thoroughly recommend trying out one of the Pig hotels.

Love M xx
