London Trip..

We have just got back from a few days in London which were really lovely. We stayed in the Shangri-La at the Shard which was a beautiful hotel with the most incredible views. Blythe loved looking out at the boats, trains and buildings. The people on the ground look like tiny little ants. Our bedroom had an amazing view of tower bridge and the river it was on the 48th floor. I have to say I was a little bit scared on our first night as it was quite windy, it sounded like we might blow over!

On our first day in London we headed to the Natural History Museum, both Joe and I have really fond childhood memories of both the Natural History and Science Museums and we were so excited to show Blythe our favourite things. She loved the Dinosaurs and wasn’t afraid of the very realistic T-rex which I can remember being terrified of! After the Museum we headed for dinner at the Rainforest cafe, another place both Joe and I visited as children so it was really nice to take Blythe. She loved it, she was a little bit scared when the thunder storm happened for the first time. It is great fun for kids and really child friendly although I would say the food could be better.

On our second day we headed to Harrods straight after breakfast on the taxi ride there Blythe had a bit of a nappy explosion which meant she needed a brand new dress and tights. Harrods is one of my favourite shops to visit in London it is so iconic and is like a maze inside, I had to grab a few macaroons from Laduree, they are my absolute favourite. We headed to Hamley’s next which Blythe loved and chose a few birthday presets for her. I love toy shops and Hamley’s is fab because they have so many toys out to play with and demonstrate. We loved their magic show. After a few more shops we headed for afternoon tea at the Sanderson hotel. I have been to the Sanderson for afternoon tea quite a few times and really love the Alice in Wonderland theme. The first time Joe and I went was for my birthday about 4 years ago so it was really nice to take Blythe. The food and tea selection is amazing. As you can see Blythe really enjoyed herself too! After a busy day we decided to cancel our dinner reservations. We headed back to the hotel for a swim in their sky pool and ordered room service. It was the perfect end to a lovely few days.

Love M xx
