We have just come home from the most amazing stay in one of Chewton Glen’s Treehouses. Ever since seeing the Treehouses in a magazine when I was pregnant I have been desperate to go. It has been one of our favourite ever trips and we were genuinely sad to leave! It really exceeded our expectations. You arrive at the beautiful gated drive of Chewton Glen and are then taken by buggy into the wooded valley to your tree house. The Treehouses are spectacular looking and furnished beautifully inside. They have a slight country lodge feel which is really in keeping with their surroundings. Although we have been lucky enough to stay in lots of amazing hotels around the world there is something really special about staying in a luxury treehouse in the middle of a forest. It will definitely live long in our memories! Our balcony, equipped with a private hot tub, had a beautiful view across the forest with a stream in the distance. It is really idyllic and peaceful with only the sound of birdsong and our NOISY toddler shouting ‘MUMMY, DADDY, TREE’ at the top of her voice!
They really go above and beyond to welcome children at Chewton Glen, we were met with a beautiful welcome display for Blythe and a lovely wrapped present of books for her which she loved and is such a nice touch! There was also a nonslip mat for the bath and some of our favourite Child’s farm bath products which are amazing for kids. The pool at the spa welcomes children between the hours of 9-10am and 4-5.30pm, the outdoor pool allows them all day. I totally forgot to pack swim nappies (baby brain!) but the spa were super helpful and found us some to fit Blythe. She loves swimming and we had 2 lovely family swims, She even befriended the statue! Joe surprised me and booked me a much needed massage which was incredible! It was so lovely to have a relaxing hour to myself!
Our Tree house had a fully equipped kitchen, log fire and is fully set up with sky. There was a loft room which would have been perfect for slightly older kids, set up wth twin beds, beanbags, playstation and boardgames. Blythe enjoyed a bath in the ginormous tub with the Child’s farm bubbles and was even able to watch CBeebies on the bathroom TV! Usually she sleeps terribly in travel cots and I don’t blame her because they are generally like sleeping on an ironing board! The travel cot had a proper mattress and as a result she slept through which allowed Joe and I to enjoy our evening together, relax in the hot tub and get some much needed sleep! We ordered a treehouse hamper for dinner which was a three course meal, I had an amazing lobster curry for my main course which was delicious! Breakfast is also delivered in a hamper via a secret hatch in the Treehouse, it was an amazing selection of fresh juices, milk, breads, pastries, smoked salmon, jams, pancakes cereals, yogurt and fruit. We had a lovely pot of tea from the selection of loose leaf teas available.
Chewton Glen Treehouse’s are truly incredible, perfect for a romantic getaway or a family trip, we loved our time there and can’t wait to go back again!
